The Brooklyn Nets (19-8) have announced this morning that another four players will be out because of COVID-19 health and safety protocols ahead of Tuesday’s matchup against the Toronto Raptors (13-14).

LaMarcus AldridgeDeAndre BembryJames Johnson, and Jevon Carter will join Paul Milsap, who the Nets announced on Monday will be out due to health and safety protocols. The Nets will be down five players going into Tuesday’s contest and possibly more. The Nets could also be down Kevin Durant, who was listed as questionable for the Raptors game per Marc Stein.

Brooklyn being so shorthanded will put more stress on James Harden, Blake Griffin, Patty Mills, and Durant (if he is cleared to play) to carry a heavier portion of the scoring and defensive duties until their teammates clear protocols.

The Nets are also entertaining the possibility of Kyrie Irving returning in a Nets uniform. The rumors have only amplified after the embattled superstar posted a video of him putting on a pair of signature sneakers onto his Instagram story.

Five Nets players entering health and safety protocols comes 10 days after Brooklyn faced the Chicago Bulls on Dec. 4. The Bulls are facing an outbreak that caused the League to postpone their next two games against the Pacers and Raptors.
