Brown’s return is just in time for the Celtics’ long homestand, where they play 15 of their next 20 games. According to Celtics head coach Ime Udoka, Jaylen Brown seems to have his “burst” back that was missing when he returned in November. After shutting him down again, the priority was ensuring that the hamstring was fully recovered for the long run.
Brown spoke to the media on what went wrong the first time and why he feels better this time around via Boston.com.
“I think I came back maybe a little too early before because I was not myself,” Brown said per Boston.com. “And hamstrings are a little bit tricky, so we were just taking time to figure it out. The organization and the medical staff had good communication and we figured it out.”
“I think just over the course of time, the body just naturally healed itself at the pace it wanted to go at,” he said. “I wish it was a little bit faster, or a lot a bit faster, but it wasn’t. But moving forward in the right direction now. I’m grateful that my body is agreeing with me.”
